Validation Assessments

Validation Assessments

All Risk Management frameworks look great when completed. However, if they are not tested, they may not be as robust as thought. Research informs us that people may not always respond as we think, and events may not present themselves as anticipated.

Two types of validation IRM suggest are:-

  • Scenarios – testing a single variable such as a cyber-attack
  • A simulation exercise which is a more complex multi-phase validation with a reset at each phase

Risk Scenario Exercises

Rehearsing your organisation’s response to a major risk

Scenario exercises can benefit all levels of an organisation.

What we offer:

  • A range of scenario exercise formats to help rehearse your organisation’s response to major risks and crises.
  • Each format is designed to meet the level of confidence and maturity of your response teams.
  • Each exercise typically lasts half a day to a full day depending on the format chosen; we have also run several multi-day exercises to help organisations rehearse their response over a prolonged period of time.
  • Each exercise is designed in collaboration with our clients to ensure they focus on critical aspects of their response, their major risks and their specific stakeholder and business environment.
Risk Scenario Exercises

Key Outcomes:

  • Give participants the opportunity to practice their individual roles and responsibilities when faced with a major crisis
  • Determine whether an organisation can recover critical services within impact tolerances, recovery times and service level agreements
  • Clarify how best to communicate to different internal and external stakeholder groups from the outset of a crisis
  • Identify areas for improvement within the response plans
  • Understand how different teams interact with each other throughout a crisis and establish more effective ways of working under pressure
  • Determine critical response actions and decisions throughout a multi-day disruption.
