Cookie Policy

What is a cookie?

Like most websites, this one uses cookies.

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer by websites that you visit. They are widely used in order to make websites work, or work more efficiently, as well as to provide information to the owners of the site.

Types of cookies:

Strictly necessary cookies. These are cookies that are required for the operation of our website. They include for example, cookies that enable you to log into secure areas of our website.

Analytical/performance cookies. They allow us to recognise and count the number of visitors and to see how visitors move around our website when they are using it. This helps us to improve the way our website works, for example, by ensuring that users are finding what they are looking for easily.

Functionality cookies. These are used to recognise you when you return to the website and record that you are a user of our website, or whether your web browser has Javascript enabled.

Targeting cookies. These cookies record your visit to our website, the pages you have visited and the links you have followed. We will use this information to make our website and the advertising displayed on it more relevant to your interests. We may also share this information with third parties for this purpose

Our cookies

The table below explains the cookies we use and why:

CookiePurpose
Google AnalyticsThese cookies are used to collect information about how visitors use our website. We use the information to compile reports and to help us improve the website.

Google tag managerThis helps us store information about your preferences, and so allow us to customise our site and to provide you with offers that are targeted at your individual interests.

Google AdwordsWe use Google Adwords cookies for two purposes.

Firstly, we determine the number of conversions with Google Adwords. We do this to track how many people make a request on our website as a result of one of our adverts. This data is very valuable to us; it enables us to measure the success rate of our marketing campaigns.

Secondly, Google Adwords enables us to target adverts to your previously specified interests. These interests are based on the specific pages that you have visited on our website. The pages are saved in a remarketing cookie. This cookie places our adverts on third party websites to which we have explicitly given permission.

Facebook and InstagramFacebook and Instagram provide us with certain features and tools (e.g. pixels, SDKs and APIs) that we could add to our website to allow us to send data about actions that people take on our website (“Event Data”) to Facebook to track conversions (“Conversion Tracking”), to create custom audiences of people who have visited our website (“Custom Audiences from your Website”).

AdrollAt times we may use AdRoll to provide interest-based advertisements to show our ads on other websites. The technology to do this is made possible by cookies and as such we may place a so called “remarketing cookie” during your visit. The whole process is entirely anonymised.

SumoMe (AppSumo)SumoMe provides tools to collect and analyse anonymous statistics, such as page usage analytics; and tools, such as subscriber sign-up prompts, sharing tools and contact forms.

TwitterWe may use Twitter’s universal website tag, conversion tracking and tailored audiences products.  We and third parties collect user data through their application for purposes of conversion tracking and serving ads targeted to users’ interests. We do not select targeting criteria that could reveal sensitive information about users and don’t subject users to advertising that isn't relevant to our brand.
