With almost 40 years of experience, he is a former senior police officer who commanded many critical incidents, before turning his focus onto supporting public and private sector organisations enhance their resilience. Elena is an award-winning risk expert, international trainer and author of best-selling books on Operational risk management.

She has an extensive track record in transforming risk management, delivering practical solutions, and providing board and executive level advice on effective Operational and Enterprise risk management strategy, design, and implementation.

Simon has over 30 years’ experience working in risk management and insurance. Primarily specialising in operational risk.

Simon combines both practitioner and academic expertise. He has written many of the IRM’s Sound Practice Guidance Papers on Operational Risk, as well as the IRM’s textbook Fundamentals of Operational Risk Management. Simon has worked at various levels, starting as a senior manager and later a head of operational risk, primarily in the financial services sector.
